Troy will begin his appointment at Cuesta College April 25.

"I am extremely pleased that Dan Troy sought out Cuesta College as his college of choice,” said Cuesta College Superintendent/President Dr. Gil Stork. “His addition to our executive team will help take us to a new level of effectiveness in managing the assets of the district. Dan is one of the most respected community college professionals in the state."

“While I've enjoyed working on education issues at the State for many years, I'm looking forward to having a more direct role in helping students achieve their educational and career goals at Cuesta College,” said Troy, who currently oversees the college finance and facilities division at the State level. “My main goal as vice president of administrative services is to ensure that our resources are carefully aligned with the college's mission, goals, and values of supporting student access, success, and academic excellence.”

Troy earned a Bachelor’s Degree in English from Dickinson College in May 1991 and a Master’s Degree in Public Policy from Georgetown University in May 1997. Troy came to the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office in 2011 from the California State Senate, where he served as principal consultant for the Senate Committee on Appropriations. In that capacity he advised Senate leadership on education-related legislation and budget matters. Prior to his work in the Senate, he had an accomplished career at the California Department of Finance, holding some of the highest profile and most technically challenging education finance assignments.
