Cuesta College is launching a new Faculty Lecture Series this month. The premier event is scheduled for February 23, from 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m., on the San Luis Obispo Campus in room 6303. Anthropology instructor and 2015-16 Cuesta College Teaching Excellence Award recipient Lise Mifsud will give a talk titled, “Unearthed: Musings of an Anthropologist; A Discussion about Forensic Anthropology.”

“The intent of the Faculty Lecture Series is to share the vast and interesting knowledge of various faculty members, while providing a sense of community, and allowing the opportunity for faculty, staff, students and the public to come and learn about Cuesta College’s many disciplines,” said Cuesta College Academic Senate President and chemistry instructor Lara Baxley.

According to Baxley, the goal of the series is to include three lectures each semester. The events may involve a traditional lecture, demonstration, performance, or interactive activity.  The Faculty Lecture Series is cosponsored by the college’s Academic Senate and office of the Vice President of Academic Affairs.
