As a retiree of Cuesta College, you have the opportunity to continue your health care coverage plans.

Upon Retirement

Notify the Insurance Office of your choice to stay with Cuesta's insurance or to decline within 30 days of your retirement date.

Employees who decline the District's coverage will not be allowed to rejoin at a later time.

Insurance premiums are invoiced monthly and payments are made directly to the Insurance Office at:

Cuesta College
Insurance Benefits
PO Box 8106
San Luis Obispo, CA 93403-8106

Retirees may pay a different price for insurance coverage than active employees. Contact the office for details.

Medicare Entitlement

When retirees have Medicare, Medicare coverage becomes primary and the District coverage becomes secondary.

Retirees with Medicare are encouraged to evaluate the coverage and cost of District plans with that of Medicare Supplements in order to achieve the best coverage at a reasonable price.

Open Enrollment

Retirees covered by the District's insurance policies may change plans at Open Enrollment each fall.

Changes

If you experience a qualifying event (marriage, divorce) or change of address outside of Open Enrollment please contact the Insurance Benefits Office for assistance in completing change forms.
